International Leadership Programme
Our World Leaders, led by Mr Parmar, meet weekly to raise awareness and celebrate culture and global events. We think it is vitally important for all of our students to be outward-facing individuals and truly understand how we can learn from this approach. Students deliver world-themed assemblies to all years to illustrate their work. In order to maintain our Full International Award (2018) we evidence our global work in the curriculum as well as assemblies.
International Schools Award
In October 2020, Crown Hills Community College was accredited with the International Schools Award given by the British Council.
The International School Award rewards schools that have shown a commitment to embedding international awareness and understanding within their class or school.
The British Council encourage this by supporting schools in completing collaborative, curriculum-based work with a number of international partner schools, involvement of the wider community.
The International School Award is available in 16 countries and is well-regarded by school inspection bodies and ministries of education globally.
We have been awarded this achievement for the next three years until 2023.
Pupils will develop:
- an increased knowledge, awareness and tolerance about other countries, cultures and languages,
- confidence in communicating with people from different backgrounds,
- more skills to successfully live and work in a global and mobile society,
- literacy skills when writing stories and letters for specifics audiences
- students begin to develop confidence with their foreign language skills.

Feedback from the British Council
“Your activities demonstrated a clear and whole school approach to embedding international work along with highlighting and incorporating a diverse range of curriculum subjects. You have a good range of overseas link schools and collaborated with them in impactful and creative ways to ensure that wider topics such as science, sport, arts and climate change were well understood and the learning outcomes shared widely”
