We are planning on hosting a Research PhysEd national conference at the college, focused on the use of evidence and research in Physical Education.

A keynote in the morning will be followed by a range of sessions throughout the day.

We will invite submissions from teachers, school leaders, academics, and other professionals from the world of PE to lead these sessions.

There will also be networking opportunities, panel discussions, and the chance to play some social sport at the end of the day.

We hope this will be an opportunity to share good practice and support all attendees in developing Physical Education in their settings and beyond.

Our vision for this event is to unite PE practitioners from across the country and learn from the best evidence and research that is currently available.

This will be a non-profit making event.

The date of the conference will be Saturday July 1st 2023. There will then be 4 workshops throughout the day and finish with some social sport. This will allow participants to build their own personalised CPD or follow a specific strand of workshops.

Themes of the Workshops:

  • Teaching and Learning in PE
  • Curriculum
  • Assessment
  • Leadership of PE
  • Professional Learning
  • Practical PE
  • School Sports Partnerships
  • Whole school physical activity

Submissions Now Open!

If you are interested in presenting at the event, please complete this form. We welcome submissions from professionals at all career stages, including people who have not presented at events before.

Your session could be in a lecture-style, a workshop or seminar, or a practical session. Your content should be:
– Interesting to PE teachers, school leaders, coaches, or sports development professionals.
– Informed by evidence from, and experience of the sector.
– Practically applicable to those working in PE and school sport.

We are particularly interested in hearing from presenters who:
– Are currently based in schools and school sports partnerships.
– Have ideas that fit one of our key themes.

The selection panel will consist of a range of teachers, leaders, and other school sport professionals. The deadline for submissions will be April 14th, and we will aim to let all presenters know by 21st April.

Please note that as this is a not for profit event, we are not able to pay presenters or travel expenses. Each presenter will receive an event ticket and lunch on the day.
